Flying Frog Productions was at the GAMA Trade Show with previews of their latest game, Invasion From Outer Space.
Similar to their previous hit game, Last Night on Earth the Zombie Game, Invasion is built along the same mechanics and art style. In classic 50′s sci-fi movie theme, aliens have invaded the earth. Unlike most movies, however, their opponents aren’t the army, but rather a low-rent circus that happened to be in the area. So, it’s ray-guns vs. the human cannonball and mind-control vs. the bearded lady! Bizarre? You bet!
Invasion from Outer Space has the same combat system as Last Night in Earth, as well as the modular boards. In fact, the two games are designed to be combined. Want to try martians vs. zombies? You can.
Like all Flying Frog games, the art style is a standout. Rather than hire artists to create the cards and box covers, Flying Frog uses photographs of their friends and actors dressed up for the part. And, yes; the game does come with its own soundtrack.
The game is scheduled to be out this fall.
