Dungeons & Dragons Lair Assault Update

UPDATE:

Character info is now available. Characters must be:

  • 5th Level
  • Made from any 4th ed book.
  • Only 1 6th level magic item
  • Only 1 5th level magic item
  • Only 1 4th level magic item
  • 840 gp in equipment
  • No more than 1 Rare magic item per character
  • No more than 2 consumable magic items.

If you think you have what it takes to brave the fiercest foes, fight the toughest battles, and conquer the vilest enemies, we have a new Dungeons & Dragons play experience for you! Starting in September, gather your master tacticians and rules experts together to kick down the dungeon doors and begin the assault!

D&D Lair Assault is a new Wizards Play Network in-store program that pits tactically-minded players against a super challenge where the difference between victory and defeat is dependent upon your game knowledge, ability to adapt, and a little bit of luck. You’ll pit your wits against some of the most difficult encounters you’ve ever played. Each challenge is a mega-encounter that plays in just a few hours, but many will need to make more than one run at it in pursuit of victory.

We’ll be running Lair Assault every other Thursday through September and October. Sign up for Lair Assault in person at the shop.

We ask that each player buy a $5 Gift Token to participate in the event. Tokens are good for $5 off anything in the store.

M12 Prerelease Event – June 9th, Noon

We’ll be holding a sealed deck event to introduce the new Magic set.  Players will receive 6 booster packs and must make a minimum 40 card deck with those cards and basic lands.

The winner of the event (with no losses and no ties) will receive an ENTIRE BOX of M12.

The cost of the event is $25.

Free Role-Playing Game Day June 18th

Saturday, June 18th is Free Role-Playing Game Day at The Haunted Game Cafe.

While supplies last, we’ll be giving away a free role-playing game book, module or accessory to everyone who asks for one. Each person may have one item.

This is also an excellent time to show off your favorite role-playing game to new players. Anyone who runs or participates in a game in the store that Saturday gets FIRST PICK of all the free items.

Come into the shop and let us know if you’d like to play, like to run, what and when.

Also, anyone who participates in the store sponsored Pathfinder or Dungeons & Dragons Encounters gets to reserve an item.

Launch Party Weekend

We’ll be doing a bunch of event for the launch of New Phyrexia.  We’re especially proud of the FREE EVENT we’re doing on Sunday. Just attend any four events this weekend and you can play in the Sunday Night Draft for FREE.

  • Thursday Night at Midnight – $10 Booster Draft of Triple Phyrexia. There will be no prizes for this event. We do not redraft rares, you keep what you draft.
  • Friday Evening at 6pm – $15 Booster Draft of 1 Scars 1 Besieged and 1 New Phyrexia. Includes Prize support of pack or store credit.
  • Saturday Afternoon at Noon – Launch Party Main Event. A Sealed with 3 Scars and 3 New Phyrexia.
  • Saturday Evening at 7pm – $15 Booster Draft of 1 Scars 1 Besieged and 1 New Phyrexia. Includes Prize support of pack or store credit.
  • Sunday Afternoon at Noon – $15 Booster Draft of 1 Scars 1 Besieged and 1 New Phyrexia. Includes Prize support of pack or store credit.
  • Sunday Evening at 6pm – FREE BOOSTER DRAFT. 1 Scars 1 Besieged and 1 New Phyrexia. Does not include prize support. This event is free to anyone who played in four of the previous five events.

Sign Up for Dungeons & Dragons Encounters

The new season of Dungeons & Dragons Encounters starts this Wednesday, May 11th. There are open seats available for the 8:30 PM table.

This season, we will be asking players to purchase a $5 gift token on game night. This token can be used as a $5 off coupon for anything in the store. We’ll also be running specials on game night. For example, a booster pack of Fortune Cards and a fountain drink for $5 (inc tax).
