Use Your Phone to Pay
It’s no secret that merchants pay a large fee to credit card companies in order to accept plastic at the register. We accept those charges as the cost of doing business and do our best to keep fees down.
Recently, a new online payment system has started to gain more and more awareness. Dwolla is an online payment system that works similar to PayPal. Customers sign up for the service, which allows you to transfer money directly from your linked bank account. This is similar to a debt card, except without the fees.
Here’s the good part – Dwolla transactions below $10 are free for both the customer and the merchant! Transaction above $10 only cost the merchant 25 cents. Plus, you can use an app on a smart phone to make your payment.
I’d like to encourage our customers who use web connected smart phones to investigate Dwolla.
As a reward for using this service in the shop, we’ll give you 3 BONUS rewards points for every dollar an item costs.

20% off Magic Singles For Event Players
We’re excited to announce a great new promotion here at The Haunted Game Cafe. Until the promotion ends, we’ll be offering 20% off all Magic the Gathering singles to anyone who plays in a scheduled event.
During the event, and for half an hour afterwards, paid participants in an event will be able to get singles for 20% off the list price and our commons deal will change to 20 for a dollar.
Players must buy cards for themselves. Buying cards for someone else is a violation of the “No Cash Trading” store policy.
When trading in cards to purchase discounted cards, we will pay the cash price for the trade in.
Please note that Mini-Masters events will not count towards this promotion.
Management reserves the right to limit the number of cards or total value of the cards available to a single buyer.

Monday Night Miniatures
The Haunted Game Cafe is proud to announce that we are expanding our hours. We’ll now be open Monday nights and we’re dedicating the night to miniatures.
Of course, you’ll be able to play your favorite board game anytime, but the larger tables will be reserved for miniatures.
Pack War vs. The Store
In order to encourage more Pack Wars (which is a totally fun, fast, cheap way to play magic while building your collection), we’ll be doing a Pack War vs. The Store Promotion.
Here’s how it works:
- You buy two booster packs of Magic the Gathering. You keep all the cards at the end (after all, you paid for ‘em).
- Play Pack Wars with the person behind the counter. We’ll provide the land as usual.
- If you win, we’ll give you TWO $1 RARE CARDS OF YOUR CHOOSING!
Note – employees may be too busy to play. Please wait for things to calm down before challenging the store. Also, some employees may not be familiar enough with magic to play.
Here’s how Pack Wars works:
- Each person opens a single booster pack, but does not look at the contents.
- The tip card is removed.
- Each player adds three of each basic land to their pack and shuffles it.
- Draw seven cards and play Magic in the normal way.
