The Point 99.9 FM shows us some love

Beano from The Point 99.9FM has given us a nice review.  Here’s a clip:

There was a good mix of people playing games, a friendly guy behind a coffee bar, and a store full of games and knick-knacks, many of which I had never even heard of before. Yes, they had a lot of the popular games you would except at a game shop, but I would say that 75% of the games in the store were games I had never seen before, but looked very intriguing.

Thanks For A Great Year & Big Plans

All of us here at the Haunted Game Cafe want to thank our customers for an amazing year. For a new game store to take off as much as we have in only a year speaks volumes about the enthusiasm of our customers. Since we don’t have a big advertising budget, the vast majority of our customers have learned about the store through friends.

Thanks to your support and encouragement we’ve grown from one employee to four, and from being open one night a week to 5 nights. We’ve gone from one regular group playing at the store to dozens. We’ve expanded our product lines to include more of your favorite games.

Big Plans for the Coming Year

How better to say thanks than FREE STUFF!  Since day one we’ve had a drinks rewards program in place. After you buy a number of drinks, you get one for free. When we started, we weren’t in a position to offer similar rewards to our game customers, but now we are.

Starting in the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing our SPIRIT POINTS REWARDS PROGRAM. With this new program, everything you get at the cafe will earn you points towards great games, free drinks and other cool items.

If you already have points on your card from drinks, don’t worry. Your points will be automatically converted to the new system. Look for more details to be posted here on the website.

Thanks to…

There’s way too many people to thank individually, so I’ll give you a few of the year’s highlights:

  • The woman who high-fived me saying, “This is the place I always wanted to open, and you went and did it!”
  • The man who tipped me two dollars saying, “This is for a shop like this existing!”
  • The reviewers who called us, “One of the best coffee shops in Northern Colorado” and “something completely unique for our City.

See you all in the New Year.

- Gary and all the crew at The Haunted Game Cafe

Channel 4 in Denver just named The Haunted Game Cafe one of The Best Coffee Shops in Northern Colorado!

Here’s what they had to say:

“Tucked away in a Fort Collins’ strip mall, The Haunted Game Café is a hidden gem. This shop offers delicious coffee drinks as well as loads of board games patrons can play for free. They also sell new games that you’ll be unable to find elsewhere in Northern Colorado. The atmosphere is fun, with patrons of every age playing everything from monopoly to more complex games.
