Armor does the heavy lifting below the neck. Spiked, plated shoulders sit over a ridged chest, and serrated hooks drop from both forearms. Their curved tips hang beneath the bottom of the shield. Even so, the beak still pulls the eye first, because the tendrils frame it so closely.

Primer is already on, which saves a step before the first wash of bone or rust. The shield backing also comes out of the same print as the bust. As a result, there is little cleanup before painting.
